$45.00

STILL LIFES IN GRAPHITE WORKSHOP w/ Sherida {$45}

Age 13+

Monday - Tuesday - Wednesday

July 14, 2025 - July 16, 2025

9am - noon each day

at the Blue Barn Door {studio}

3832 E. Country Club Rd. in Salina, KS

$45 includes graphite pencil to use and paper

Join Sherida Johnson at Blue Barn Door {studio} for a thoughtful 3-day graphite drawing workshop. Students will explore the timeless art of still life - with a personal twist. Designed for ages 13 and UP, this class invites each participant to bring a meaningful object from home that reflects something about who they are. It could be a sentimental, symbolic, or simply something they love.

On the first day, students will arrange their personal object alongside their simple props and photograph their still life setup using instructor guidance. These individual compositions will become the foundation for their artwork throughout the week.

Using graphite pencils, students will learn essential techniques for proportion, shading, contrast, and composition. Along the way, they’ll be encouraged to reflect on their object’s meaning and how it can be expressed through form and tone. The class includes open group discussion and peer feedback, making space for creative exchange, storytelling, and inspiration

By the end of the course, students will leave with a deeply personal, detailed graphite still life drawing that speaks to both skill and identity.

Feel free to bring your own drink and a snack!

Class fee is $45 and includes all materials and clean-up.

Register online only. Payment is due 2 days prior to class day (so we can make sure we have enough materials).

Walk-ins are on a first come basis which is not a guarantee and payment is due at the door. BUT CALL FIRST!

DISCLAIMER: By signing up for the class you are agreeing to the Blue Barn Door {studio} policies. Here are the Basics: you are welcome to bring snacks and drinks, space is limited, to guarantee a spot in class you should purchase tickets in advance, registration is non-refundable (guests can transfer registration to a friend, but dates cannot be switched), we reserve the right to cancel the event if 4 spots are not purchased (in such cases, tickets will be refunded).
