Join Sherida Johnson at Blue Barn Door {studio} for a hands on 3-day workshop, students ages 10 and up - including kids, teens, and adults - will explore the colorful world of still life art using both drawing and painting techniques. This class focuses on careful observation, creative interpretation, and collaboration, making it a perfect entry point for beginners and a fresh challenge for experienced young artists.

We’ll begin by studying a single fruit or vegetable in graphite, learning how to see form, texture, and shadow. From there, the class will work together to build a still life arrangement using rea fruits and vegetables - voting on the composition as a group. On the final day, students will paint the collaborative still life in acrylic, adding color, light, and their own creative flair.

Each session includes space for group brainstorming, artful conversation, and instructor guidance to help students develop their technique and artistic voice. It’s a great opportunity to build skills, build community, and bring ordinary objects to life through art.

Feel free to bring your own drink and a snack!

Class fee is $45 and includes all materials and clean-up.

Register online only. Payment is due 2 days prior to class day (so we can make sure we have enough materials).
